I Feel Beautiful – the Second Commandment for Every Woman to Live by

Posted on March 7th, 2010 by admin

Copyright (c) 2009 Dawn McIntyre

No matter what age or size we are, most girls and women continually ask themselves, “What can I do to feel more beautiful?” I have found that all women, even the ones that are outwardly attractive, fail to see and feel the real beauty that exists within us all. The key to seeing and feeling this inner beauty is to develop a bond with our soul.

My journey to feeling beautiful was painful at best and sabotaged by my upbringings at worst. I experienced many physical beatings as a child that included the rantings and ravings of how fat and ugly I was. As impressionable as I was as a child, as we all are, I believed it wholeheartedly. To make matters more difficult, I grew to 5′7″ before I was twelve years old, and with my brown hair and eyes, I felt like a giant ugly duckling.

As a young woman I was offered many opportunities to model but I totally lacked the self-image and self-confidence to pursue these offers and chose to specialize in helping other women look beautiful through the beauty and fashion industries.

As I embarked on my healing and spiritual journey, I learned to connect with my soul and to being committed to living as my soul as often as I could. Over time, it became very natural for me to identify with my soul and feel its beauty growing inside of me. It was at this time that I could actually look at myself in the mirror, and rather than cringe at what I saw, I smiled and felt grateful for the vessel that my body was, a vessel to house my soul and spirit, that I my live more fully and full of joy.

There are many things we can do to develop this kind of relationship with our soul but before I share them with you I feel it is imperative for you to understand some key components to feeling beautiful now.

The three components we need to work on and develop are:

1. Self-image- Seeing ourselves as beautiful in the present moment at all times.

2. Self-esteem- Thinking and feeling all that is beautiful about ourselves and others first and foremost.

3. Self-confidence- Expressing our beautiful selves boldly in areas that speak to our hearts, without any concern for the approval or validation of others.

At any point in time, when you are lacking in these areas, it is helpful to relax any judgments or attachments to what is being felt, thought or seen and instead simply witness what is going on for you, as you would witness the same in a complete stranger. This will serve to release the hold that any negativity would have on you re-claiming the beautiful you that is real, authentic there only hidden by your current perceptions.

To intensify and solidify this real beauty within, look to your soul to guide you and help you reveal the hidden treasure of you. Your soul is by her very nature based on beauty, joy, and a perfection of being that is unshakeable once it is revealed, from the inside and out.

To develop this connection and bond with your soul here are some strategies and tips to help you:

1. Before you go to sleep, ask your soul to guide you, through your dreams, to ways that you can easily connect with and get to know yourself at the soul level.

2. When you awake, call your soul to you. Sense your soul all around your physical being as a brilliant white light and then a feel a connection between the heart of your soul and your own heart chakra. A visual that works for this is to see your soul’s heart as a diamond that fits into the center of your heart chakra that is a jewel of thousands of petals opening up more and more as you make this connection. Now ask your soul to sound its note of joy, love and beauty for the remainder of the day. You will become transformed by this connection and your outer world will reflect the inner beauty that is you.

3. Commit to living as your soul. As you resonate with the vibrations of your soul this will be easier to do and making choices and decisions, moment to moment, will reflect the wisdom, beauty and love of your soul more often than not.

4. Seek to integrate your soul with your personality. Visualize a white light coming from your soul’s heart pouring into your heart center. Draw this light up to your head center and back down again to your heart; creating a continual motion of light between the two centers – you may feel a slight hum and this is very normal. Sit with this sensation for a few minutes and repeat silently to yourself “with this light and the guidance of my soul I choose to live by the guidance of a wise heart and a loving mind at all times”.

You will be guided by your soul to new experiences, places and people that are more in alignment with the beauty of your soul and that will reflect the real beauty of you. It will become easier for you to feel and identify with your inherent beauty and any outer beauty concerns are transformed in the process, be it physically, mentally, and emotionally or all three.

What Is True Beauty And How To Truly Be Beautiful

Posted on March 6th, 2010 by admin

Beauty is the charm and magnetism in a person which give an individual a feeling of happiness and contentment. It is the mixture of perfect features with a perfect face-cut that makes a person attractive. A beautiful individual is fashionable and respected. Beauty is a real reward of God, for which we must often thank the almighty. An individual is said to be perfectly beautiful if he/she is beautiful from inside and outside, meaning the outer pretty and lovely looks are not enough you need to be pretty from within, you should have a clean and lovely heart along with a good face. There are certain other things that sum up to your attractiveness like your charm, elegance, beam motion, intelligence, character and style along with a healthy body, charming youth, skin and perfect symmetry. All these things with a clean heart which holds warmth for others is considered to be a truly wonderful human. An individual with all the above reported features makes him truly beautiful. Your behavior basically is what makes you wonderful. It is usually said that “the first impression is the last impressionâ€? which is true for outer beauty too, but then again it is a sensible saying that “all that glitters is not goldâ€? now even this contradicts to what is said earlier. Anyways, thousands of individuals have thousand statements towards the gist of beauty every one different and right to their viewpoint. But finally what goes with all this is “beauty lies in the eyes of the beholderâ€?. To be sensible enough, the outer beauty is most chiefly appreciated; it is soon after that we come to know the inner character of that externally beautiful person. As already mentioned, the outer perfection with a beautiful face is a perfect beauty which distributes a large amount of profits in this materialistic society. Right from the early days where a lovely and a good-looking child is loved and liked, then during the school days, wonderful pupils get a unique approach from teachers comparatively and obviously in college it is every time a beautiful human that pulls the crowd. Now when you are in 30’s and 40’s, your charisma still impresses the crowd, you are still seen upon when in high class parties. It is naturally a real boon to be born beautiful. Some people are born beautiful while others can look wonderful with the help of a wide variety of make-up tips available to improve each and every aspect of your face. A female particularly should look beautiful as beauty creates a woman’s will power and adds glamour to a man’s life. A beautiful lady tends to get greater consideration and care from the male governing world. Make-up makes a female look pretty and feel better. Make-up is made for woman and she truly adores doing make-up, but if you truly wish to look a absolute wonderful female it is necessary that you understand the vital fundamentals of make-up and do it perfectly well. You can create a radiant and lustrous skin by applying a mixture of right colors and cosmetics that help\assist you coat and hide any unevenness in your facial skin. This will also increase your standard and you will feel more positive when you are anywhere out among a large crowd where beauty creates an impression. Women and girls love to do make-up and it their basic wish to look gorgeous and as it is truly said “A woman without make-up is like food without saltâ€?. There is a great\strong feeling of contenment after an ideal make-up, you can conceal the flawsmistakes and roughness on your face, and you can highlight your features with perfect strokes of make-up. All this and [a lot more can be done with make-up. To wind up in a sentence, a perfect make-up improves your personality and greatly builds your confidence. But it is reasonable if you respect and love yourself as what you are, be satisfied with what God has gifted you, try to develop your inner beauty as your inner beauty is going to last always, external beauty gradually disappears away with time!

Consider Beauty

Posted on March 5th, 2010 by admin

“Let the beauty you love be what you do,” is one of my favorite quotes by Rumi.

It is also an invitation to a powerful and transformative way of being and doing. Whether it is the way you make your bed or prepare a meal, doing whatever you do from the energy and spirit of beauty is a transformational practice.

Consider “beauty” as a practice for your business. Whether it is your business vision, the physical space of your business, the ways you connect with clients or how you market, calling upon the energy and spirit of beauty will transform both you as a business leader and your business itself.

Beauty inspires. Inspiration – whose origin is “in Spirit” – is an energy source and wisdom that flows from within. Inspired ideas and actions carry their own natural energy and always move you toward successful outcomes.

Beauty nourishes and gives pleasure to the mind, body and soul. Imagine what it would be like if your business and business activities nourished and brought you pleasure. Practice and surround yourself with beauty as a way of doing business, and this will become your reality.

Beauty attracts and charms. The practice of beauty naturally makes you more magnetic and your services or products attractive to clients.

Excellence, artistry, truth and originality are attributes of beauty. They are also elements of authentic, successful and sustainable businesses and business brands.

Other attributes of beauty are grace, harmony and order. These bring ease and flow into the business mix.

Here are a few basic business beauty suggestions:

Clear your desk every day before your business day is over. Keep fresh flowers or buy something beautiful for an area of your office that you see frequently during the day. Dress and groom yourself each day in a way that you feel beautiful – even if you never see a client. Do one task at a time. Have a place for everything and return everything to its place. Practice being present with you, in every interaction and with whatever you are doing. Slow down and breathe regularly through the day. Choose excellence and artistry in your work. (Perfectionism is neither about excellence nor beauty; give it up. :-) ) Meditate or contemplate beauty in your business regularly. Play beautiful and inspiring music in the background while you work.

Consider Beauty. There are countless ways to bring the spirit and energy of beauty into your business. Practicing beauty is good for the soul and good for business.

Step Into Your Greatness…
Make beauty a business practice.

You Can’T Be Beautiful Unless You’Re Healthy

Posted on March 4th, 2010 by admin

So you want to be beautiful. But how does one achieve true inner and outer beauty? The first step to achieving true beauty is really quite simple. To be beautiful on the outside, you must make sure you’re beautiful and healthy on the inside. This is why it’s of utmost importance to take care of your body’s physical health, your inner health, along with your mind and inner self.

Outer beauty truly is directly related to inner health and Wellness. You can’t have one without the other, so it’s best to take a pro-active approach to your physical, mental and emotional health to be able to achieve that outer “glow” of beauty that has become so desired in today’s society. But make sure you’re realistic. You aren’t achieving outer beauty if your objective is simply to LOOK more beautiful.

True outer beauty comes with a sense of acceptance of self, a true peaceful spirit and a lack of obsession over physical appearance. One can’t be beautiful if they are obsessed with being beautiful. If you try to use and follow every beauty tip you’ve ever come across or are told, then you won’t succeed in becoming beautiful- you’ll only drive yourself crazy in the attempt to achieve beauty.

Society’s obsession with beauty is based on the superficial, and those who are beautiful and healthy tend to not be noticed as often. As unfair as it may be, it’s even more unfair to worry yourself to death or obsess over it. Developing an obsessing or striving for perfection will damage your physical and mental health, sometimes to the point of no return.

While outer beauty is a good goal, something nice to strive for- it shouldn’t be the entire basis of any health regimen you follow, nor should it become all you focus on. Embracing your own differences and those of others around you is key to being healthy, happy and beautiful. But you can’t embrace your differences if you obsess and view those differences negatively.

If your nose is “too big” or “too small,” recognize that it’s a difference that makes you who you are. If you feel you’re “too heavy” or “too thin,” realize that you are who you are. Simply strive to live as healthily as possible, and don’t fret about the rest. If you find yourself overweight- living healthy, eating properly, and getting enough rest will work wonders and eventually your body will find itself going towards the weight it needs to be.

And of course, you should always try to get enough sleep each night. Don’t over-exert yourself physically or mentally, and make sure you’re eating healthy meals and drinking plenty of water. Proper rest, physical activity and nutrition are of utmost importance for both your physical health and your outer beauty. Your mental health is also helped by maintaining proper nutrition and a good sleeping schedule.

Outer beauty is directly related to inner health, whether it is physical, mental or emotional. You can’t be beautiful unless you are healthy. It’s much more important to make sure you are healthy and well rested than worrying about the size of your nose or your body. Take care of your inner self first, and the outer self will glow because of your inner health and well-being. That’s true beauty.

What Is Beauty?

Posted on March 3rd, 2010 by admin

In these days, a growing number of people, especially the women, pay more and more attention to their appearance. Every year, they will spend a large sum of money on beauty products.

Nowadays, the characterization of a person as “beautiful” is more based on outer beauty, which includes physical factors. Inner beauty is placed after outer beauty. If you have a good-looking face, sexy figure and beautiful clothing, you may be labeled “beauty”. In these days, the beautiful persons are always the focus of the crowed and get more chances. Therefore more and more people are willing to spend money and time to make themselves more beautiful. This is the reason why in these days beauty products are so popular.

Many people hold a critical view on today’s common beauty standard. They argue that beauty should be the combination of all the qualities of a person that delight the senses and please the mind. The inner beauty should be placed on the first.

Now there are so many beauty contests and media establishment of beauty, which make the public lose sight of their own personal definitions of beauty. Furthermore, there are so many ads on beauty products which offer the standard of beauty. In such circumstance, people get lost about beauty.

Some people think that it is unnecessary to spend a large sum of money to buy beauty products and devote much time in beauty salon. They say the feeling of beauty comes from a sense of happy and health.

In fact, we should make positive change to the standard of beauty. It is true that everyone wants a good-looking face and sexy figure; however, there are a lot of things that we can do to be happy and healthy and to offer the standard of beauty for ourselves.

The Transcendental Perfection: Beauty

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by admin

Beauty is also known as pulcrum. It is a transcendental perfection, which results from esse or the act of being. There are different degrees of being, the vegetative life (plants), the sentient life (animals) and the rational life (human persons); beauty’s variety and richness depends on the different degrees of being.

Beauty has different levels depending on the subject from which it transcends; intelligible beauty directly is attached to the spiritual life and the sense perceptible beauty is applied to things, which attracts our sense, especially our hearing and seeing.

There are different types too, natural beauty which comes from the nature of beings, therefore we can say a woman is beautiful naturally in her femininity and rationality; and artificially when she starts further enhancing her beauty through make-up, dressing and exercise, and a painting is artificially beautiful in so far as it is painted artificially by human hands.

The Unity Of Beauty And Goodness

A special type of goodness is beauty because it gives rise to a special delight by simply being known. The sensible appetite comes into play when it feels the aesthetic appreciation and delight. It is the contemplation of the beauty of the object not on its possession. Beauty is pleasing to the will or sense appetites simply by being known by the senses or the intellect.

The Foundation Of Beauty Lies In Perfection

The foundation of beauty lies in the perfection of the desired object; things are pleasing because they are beautiful. Therefore whether or not there are men or women who are capable of appreciating a beauty, the perfection still resides in the object and thus beautiful. This perfection is from the act of being, the fullness, and absolute Beauty.

Perfecting Beauty In Its Fullest Sense

The foundation of beauty is the absolute. Beauty, the act of being, and we can say things are beautiful in so far as they already possess perfection. However this is not the only aspect of beauty. A created being can only reach the fullness of the beauty if it possesses the perfection of its very nature. An example of this is a woman can only be truly beautiful in her being a woman, in her finest feminine nature.

There are three basic features of beauty:

There should be harmony and proportion in the object and subject itself and to its surroundings. The combination of clothes must be in accordance with the occasion and personality type. To further enhance one’s perfection, she is properly made up not excessively but appropriately, she is pleasing to the sight and thus we can say the person is attractive. Integrity and completeness of the object is another element to consider in its substantial and accidental form. A beautiful thing is considered when it is complete up to the last detail. The beauty of the Mozart Cantata is an example of a work of beauty of integrity and completeness.

Another element is clarity, both in the material and the spiritual. In case of systematic knowledge, clarity is seen in its intelligibility, truth and being. In case of the sense of hearing, the arrangement of the melody that makes the music pleasant. In the case of sight, light, limpidity and brightness are taken into consideration; a painting is characterized by clarity if there is light, limpidity, and brightness.
